The topic of age reversal and life extension has been a hot topic in the scientific community for some time now. Many people are looking for that magic pill that will give them a few more years. Additionally, they are hoping the lotions, potions and surgery they buy will restore their youthful appearance.
Unfortunately, there is no simple solution to the aging process. The truth is, aging is not a disease that requires a cure. It is just a natural part of life. However, there are 3 things that are scientifically proven to help add more healthy years to your life. Alas, the onus is on you and not supplements you take or medical intervention.
Firstly, you must keep your body strong. Yes, that means exercise that builds and maintains muscle strength. People that don’t strength train lose an average of 3 to 5% of muscle per year after the age of 30. There was a case where an elderly man was on his deathbed. Then he became part of the hospital program where they put a stirrup above his bed to pull himself up. Eventually, he got out of bed and began training with weights and walking a half hour per day.
Secondly, don’t overeat. So, it’s not only what you eat; more importantly, it’s how much you eat. Eating more calories than your body needs puts a major stress on all the systems of your body and contributes to accelerated aging.
Thirdly, keep your body slim. Obesity has risen in the U.S. from around 30% to over 42% in the last 20 years. Type 2 diabetes has now become an epidemic in our children. Being overweight contributes to an increased chance of heart attack, stroke, diabetes and cancer. Being overweight also puts a strain on the joints and inhibits mobility.Schedule an Appointment
